New! A Wizard of Mars digital wallpaper series
To celebrate the release of A Wizard of Mars, we've rolled out a series of wallpapers showing some of the background locations of scenes in the book. All these wallpapers have been designed using actual Martian laser altimetry and radar terrain data from NASA's Mars Global Surveyor probe. By plugging this data into the fabulous Terragen scenery-generation software, DD was able to use these real-world landscapes of Mars to scout locations for the book's events. Now you too can see what Kit, Nita and the other characters in A Wizard of Mars see as they stand on the surface of the Red Planet!
Several more wallpapers are in the works and will be posted through Spring 2011 in the runup to the release of the paperback edition of A Wizard of Mars in May.
