Materia Magica

(a) As a class, any object or ingredient used in a spell: specifically, physical objects or substances rather than concepts or data. (For example, the gimbal that Nita needs for her spell in SYWTBAW would be considered materia magica.)
(b) The section of the Wizard's Manual that deals with such objects. The Materia Magica provides the wizard with information on the nature and structure of objects needed for spelling, and also gives data on potential sources and locations for such ingredients.
