I picked up High Wizardry around 1990 in a Kmart, I seem recall. I had never heard of Diane Duane before, but the book looked interesting and I needed something to read. I liked it a lot, but I remember having to read it through two or three times before I really started understanding it - I didn't realize for some time that it was part of a series (and not the first book, either!), so many things in it were confusing. Since then, though, I've become an avid fan of the series and of course own (and frequently reread) all the books in both what I always called the Wizardry books and in the Feline Wizardry sequence.
