If you think you've stumbled across a Harry Potter ripoff, think again! Nearly a decade and a half before the debut of Harry and Hermione, Nita Callahan and Kit Rodriguez were already learning the art of wizardry on the streets of Manhattan, and far beyond.

Delacorte Press published the first US edition of So You Want to Be a Wizard in November of 1983. Since then, eight volumes of the "Young Wizards" series have been published, and more than a million copies of the Young Wizards novels have been sold in the US in numerous paperback and hardcover editions, with more editions appearing worldwide every year. The 20th anniversary edition of So You Want to Be a Wizard brought even more fans into the fold -- and the most senior Young Wizards fans are now introducing their own kids to the world of errantry as we prepare to celebrate the YW Universe's silver anniversary in 2008.

Here at the official Young Wizards site, we're in the midst of a complete redesign of our facilities, adding user blogs, another group of discussion forums, and many more exciting features.
