Who are these wizards?

If you think you've stumbled across a Harry Potter ripoff, think again! Nearly a decade and a half before the debut of Harry and Hermione, Nita Callahan and Kit Rodriguez were already learning the art of wizardry on the streets of Manhattan, and far beyond.
Delacorte Press published the first US edition of So You Want to Be a Wizard in November of 1983. Since then, eight volumes of the "Young Wizards" series have been published, and more than a million copies of the Young Wizards novels have been sold in the US in numerous paperback and hardcover editions, with more editions appearing worldwide every year. The 20th anniversary edition of So You Want to Be a Wizard brought even more fans into the fold -- and the most senior Young Wizards fans continue introducing their own kids to the world of errantry as we wind down the celebration of the YW Universe's 2008 silver anniversary, and start preparing for the release of the ninth book in the series, A Wizard of Mars.
Here at the official Young Wizards site, we're in the midst of a complete redesign of our facilities -- reincarnating our discussion forums in a newer, shinier home here at the main site, and starting to implement many more exciting features. If you've just located us, welcome! Have a look around and see what's different from other kinds of wizardry you may already know. Here's a place to start.
Check out the top and side menus. They'll help you find out about the basics of the Young Wizards universe and the publication history of the series: show you where to locate online sites where you can read YW fan fiction and join in discussion groups and author chats, search the new online Young Wizards encyclopedia, the Errantry Concordance...and lots more!
