When a group of books has been in print for twenty years or more, it'll usually go through at least a few different editions, and the Young Wizards novels have been no exception to the rule. The "rule" also states that some editions' covers will be better than others...some good, some indifferent, and some just a little strange. All these types are represented over the history of the series.
In the USA, the YW novels have had three publishers -- Dell Publishing, which brought out the hardcovers under the "Delacorte Press" imprint, and the pre-digest "trade" and mass-market paperbacks as "Dell Laurel-Leaf" books: Harcourt Trade Publishers (now Houghton Mifflin Harcourt), who publish hardcover editions as "Harcourt" books, and paperback editions under the "Magic Carpet Books" imprint: and the SF Book Club, which has published both hardcover omnibus editions and hardcover single-volume editions of the books.
