Brainburn

(Also referred to as toxic agonotraxis.) A traumatic disorder suffered by wizards who have become involved in too powerful a wizardry without appropriate safeguards, or in cases where the spell's power output overflows safeguards already in place.

A loose referent for the populated worlds in the Milky Way galaxy. (HW)

Basilisk

A constructed creature, routinely associated with the Lone Power. It is generally assumed that this association means the Lone Power created basilisks itself -- or, more accurately, assembled them; they are not alive in the strict sense of the word, but are more like machines made of organic material.

Ailurin

The language spoken by cats. Ailurin, like some human languages, has words and concepts in common with the Speech: but the number of such concepts and words is much higher in Ailurin than in most other Earthly languages, with the possible exception of those languages spoken (or sung) by cetaceans.

Adjunct

(Sometimes also "adjunct talent") A creature or other sentient asset cooperating with a wizard on errantry for the completion of a specific task. The adjunct does not itself have to be a wizard, but is normally at least competent in the Speech.
