The Young Wizards series is an open-ended series of young adult novels written by bestselling author Diane Duane. DD started work on the series in the early 1980’s: the first book, So You Want to Be a Wizard, was published in 1983 by Dell. With the publication of the newest installment, A Wizard of Mars, there are now nine books in print at their present US publisher, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and at least three more books are planned.
